The Balkans have become a focal point for Russian disinformation campaigns, aimed at destabilizing the region, undermining democratic institutions, and advancing Moscow's strategic objectives.
The report provides an in-depth analysis of the various tactics employed by Russia to manipulate public opinion and exert influence in the Balkan countries, highlighting the significant challenges these campaigns pose to regional stability and democracy.
The world is witnessing the fight for a new world order controlled by dictators and authoritarians where the world is being divided between good and evil.
In order to counter the evil of authoritarianism, we must fully understand what those that threaten us are doing. This is why the HFF Freedom Light investigative series was created, to shine a light on these threats and to offer solutions as to how best to counter them.
Using all the investigative tools available – HFF human assets are traveling the world methodically mapping out these efforts utilizing undercover work, personal interviews, informants, and online research to name a few.
No other global comprehensive investigation has been undertaken into the actions of the authoritarians who wish to change the world order and take away human rights, human decency, and systematically violate territorial integrity and the fundamentals of the rule of law.
HFF will publish our findings periodically through the Freedom Light Series as we work towards one final global report.

This forthcoming report will highlight how Africa is quickly becoming a new front line of the battle against authoritarianism. Using detailed research as well as connections to and in the affected areas, the report highlights the dangers Russia, China, and other malevolent Middle East actors pose in Africa. Through this comprehensive examination, we aim to shed light on the extent and impact of Russian, Chinese, and Middle Eastern efforts on the African states, while providing viable and workable solutions to ensure the protection of democratic institutions, national security, and regional stability.
